Enrolment is open annually before 25 August and your cover will be effective from 01 October. If you have recently joined NTU you can apply within the first two months of your employment. The cut-off date for requests is the 25th of each month; a clear calendar month is required between receipt of your request and the effective benefit start/amendment date (e.g. requests received before 25th November will be valid from 1st January with salary deductions commencing from January's pay). You must include the details of your partner/spouse and/or children if you wish to purchase cover for them at the point of application. Aviva, the provider, will send a welcome pack to your home address enclosing all relevant details.
Annual premiums are payable in 12 monthly instalments deducted from your net pay, and will continue unless you cancel your benefit or leave the University.
Cancellation or Amendment
If you wish to amend or cancel your cover you must notify us by submitting a request via a MyBenefits online form. Due to the nature of this benefit, cancellation or amendment is only possible if you experience a life event (examples below), or at the end of the policy year before 25 August. If your amendment is to add or remove a family member please use the MyBenefits online form to request this.

If you are leaving NTU cancellation will be effective from the last day of your employment.
