You can apply to join this benefit annually and your cover will be effective from 1 October. If you have recently joined NTU you can apply within the first two months of your employment. The cut-off date for requests is the 1st of each month and the benefit will be available from the 1st of the following month (e.g. requests received by 1st November will be valid from 1st December with salary deductions commencing from December's pay). If you are employed on a fixed term contract you are eligible to select this benefit as long as the duration of your contract enables you to commit to purchasing travel insurance for a minimum of 6 months.
You must include details of any family members you wish to purchase cover for on your benefit selection form. Once your cover is arranged with the providers you will receive either an email, or a letter posted to your home address, from them confirming details of your insurance cover. Please refer to policy documentation for information and details of limitation and exclusions.
The cost is spread over 12 monthly instalments deducted from your net pay. You will not need to renew this benefit and instalments will continue unless you cancel your benefit or leave the University.
Cancellation or Amendment
Due to the nature of this benefit, cancellation or amendment is only possible if you experience a life event (examples below), or at the end of the policy year. If you wish to amend or cancel your cover you must notify us by submitting a request via an online benefit selection form.

If you are leaving NTU your cover will end on the last day of the month that the final deduction from your pay is made (e.g. if the final deduction from your pay is made during June your cover will expire on 30 June). Please note: It is only possible to request your cover to change between Worldwide and Europe at the end of the scheme year in September, to take effect from 1 October. It is not possible to change between Worldwide and Europe cover during the policy year.
